Everyone wants to be a leader. 99% want it for power and money and they use every dirty trick listed / not listed in the book to get that.
Well, the current situation in Maharashtra is nothing new. Its a pure game of Divide and Rule, like we had the infamous British rule where they strictly followed the Divide and Rule policy. The Indians who helped the Britishers during that phase did it for money, safety and security reasons.
We can say that History is repeating itself. The newly formed political group is least bothered about the bad conditions of the roads, the poverty line, the high inflation rate, economic crisis, overcrowded trains, rising infrastructure costs. They are more concerned about people who is talking marathi and who is not. I have no clue how will this help them and what will they achieve in doing this.
I dont see any achievement in vandalising peoples car, taxis, rickshaws, shops, malls. This is ultimatley a loss to the economy of Maharashtra.
But wait, there is a BIG catch here. People are getting negative publicity, they are getting political mileage. Now, that is the most important thing for you to be a successful politician. You need to have a record where in you have created a lot of public unrest, you must have the capability to vandalise local transports and shops. You must have the capability to speak ill about people in the open and coolly get away with it.
But all this cannot be achieved without the help from the law. The amazingly weak Indian laws and Police is a major support for upcoming politicians who want to terrorise the states.
If I would have been the CM (not for 1 day :P ) then I would have probably enforced Shoot-on-sight order for the urban terrorists for upsetting peoples lives just because they dont speak the local language. But unfortunately, people who have the powers to do something are not doing anything at all and are just watching the "fun".
Some tips that might help you in the future if you have an inclination towards politics.
7 easy steps to become a famous politicain:
1. Give fiery speeches which is supporting the local state language and opposing everyone else
2. Vandalise public places and property
3. Beat up people who are not talking the local language
4. Get Arrested
5. Get HUGE media coverage for all the "good" things you did for the local people
6. Request your followers to damage more property and shout supporting slogans for you.
7. Take a bail and get out of the Jail.
Note: The jail for the politicains and famous criminals is a place where you get treated like a King. So dont miss this chance.
Hope this helps the younger generation to become politicians who wants to do something "good" for the state. Everyone, now has a career alternative. If you feel you cant do anything in life, then you can become a politician - please make sure you have some good amount of money to sponsor the vandalism acts and give those "inspiring" speeches.
Cheers... !!!

Raj - a disgrace to Maharashtrians.
It is so unfortunate that a few educated people in India even today, in their endeavour to do welfare, select issues related to religion and community and effectively end up causing irreparable harm and loss (physical and mental) to society. Raj has crossed all limits. In my view, one should not only think of the welfare of his country but should also contribute to do good to the world- we should strive to becoming good world citizens and nothing should matter beyond that. Raj has proven that he is extrememly narrow minded and has by his thoughts and actions embarassed several Maharashtrians spread all over the world.
